Everything Everywhere, the UK’s biggest communications company, has announced the appointment of Fotis Karonis as Chief Technology Officer. Reporting directly to Olaf Swantee, Karonis will be responsible for Everything Everywhere’s Information Technology and Mobile network infrastructure.
Fotis had previously been leading the highly complex IT projects within the business, joining up the company’s legacy Orange and T-Mobile systems to deliver the best customer experience and future data propositions to market.
Olaf Swantee, CEO of Everything Everywhere said: “As Chief Technology Officer, Fotis will now be responsible for all of our information technologies and the development and evolution of the core backbone of our business – the Orange and T-Mobile networks.
I’ve tasked Fotis with creating the UK’s biggest and best network infrastructure and am delighted to welcome him to his new role on my leadership team.”
Among his top priorities, Karonis is leading the programme to enable T-Mobile and Orange customers to share the 3G signal of both networks so they can access faster data speeds and internet in more places.
Fotis Karonis, the company’s new Chief Technology Officer, said: “I am hugely excited about the scale and the ambition of the task at hand, and delivering the portfolio of technologies which are key to achieving Everything Everywhere’s three priorities – customer loyalty, operational excellence, and leveraging the data opportunity.”
Prior to this role Fotis was VP of IT at Everything Everywhere. Before that, Fotis held the T-Mobile position of Chief Information Officer.
