Our Vision: Giving the UK the best network and the best service so our customers trust us with their digital lives.
Mobile connectivity is no longer just about communication. It’s now dissolving the boundaries between our physical and digital lives by providing us with fast, simple access to everything on the Internet and in the Cloud while we are on the move. Our world is being transformed as the Internet is unleashed from the PC or laptop, and we are free to take it with us on mobile phones and tablets everywhere we go.
To help Britain realise the full personal, social and economic benefits of this digital revolution, Everything Everywhere’s vision is to give the UK the best network and best service so that our customers trust us with their digital lives.
We feel it’s our duty to deliver on this vision. We are the UK’s largest communications company, providing mobile and fixed-broadband communications services to more than 27 million consumers and businesses through the Orange and T-Mobile brands. We are responsible for carrying over a third of all mobile calls, texts and data in the UK, with billions of voice minutes, messages and megabytes delivered through our network every year. We are uniquely placed to understand and serve the changing needs of our customers in the digital age.
Our ambition is to build the best mobile network for the UK. We have invested more than £15 billion since 2000 building Britain’s biggest mobile networks that today provide our customers with extensive 3G coverage across the UK. But this is just the beginning. We are expanding our digital infrastructure – building a new backbone for Britain – that’s strong, robust and fit to serve the needs of 21st century consumers and businesses. We are planning to invest a further £1.5 billion over the next three years to further improve our network and introduce fast 4G LTE mobile broadband services across the UK.
It is our ambition to provide outstanding customer experiences and customer service. We employ over 11,000 customer service and retail employees across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, all focussed on delivering award-winning service and support. Every year, our service centres teams have over 86 million conversations with our customers, and more than 40 million customers come through the doors of our more than 720 retail stores, greeted and served by almost 5,000 store staff. Online, we have over 35 million visits per month to our Orange and T-Mobiles websites.
Our areas of business include providing mobile and fixed-broadband communications services to consumers and businesses. We are recognised for providing both consumer and business-centric mobile plans that give both exceptional value and outstanding value-added services that help our customers get the most from their smartphones and tablets. We are recognised for providing outstanding value for unlimited home broadband services. We also provide machine-to-machine solutions, helping companies to run their businesses and manage their assets more quickly, efficiently and cost-effectively by remotely collecting, processing, and transmitting data through our mobile network. In addition, more than 20 Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) run services leveraging our mobile networks.
With more than 15,000 employees in total, many in disadvantaged parts of the UK, we have revenues equivalent to a FTSE 40 company. We are backed by two of the world’s leading global communications groups, Deutsche Telekom and France Telekom, who in 2010 merged T-Mobile UK and Orange UK into a 50:50 joint venture to create Everything Everywhere, the UK’s largest mobile operator.
We have a heritage of innovation and growth. Orange was born in Bristol on 28 April 1994 and grew rapidly by talking in a language people could understand. With a focus on making lives simpler, Orange pioneered innovative products and services in the UK, such as inclusive caller ID and plan minutes, per second billing, convenient ATM top-ups, mobile conference calling, the iconic Orange Wednesday cinema offer, mobile TV, HD voice calls and a range of high quality Orange-branded mobile phones.
T-Mobile began in the UK as One 2 One in 1993 and achieved significant growth by providing quality mobile service and exceptional value. It delivered innovations to the UK including the Everyone cross-network plan, picture messaging, broadband WiFi services on trains, Flext monthly plan with cross-network minutes and texts, and industry-leading mobile data plans – as well as its famed “Life’s for Sharing” flash mob advertising campaigns.
As Everything Everywhere, we are committed to building on this legacy to deliver on our vision to give the UK the best network and the best service so that our customers trust us with their digital lives. It’s an ambitious vision, but we believe we have a responsibility to make it a reality and help change every aspect of our lives through digital technology.
